Very poor and disappointing experience with Peterman Brothers.
In 2023, I paid for a full HVAC system (furnace and AC) and a water heater install. To say the past 2.5 years have been a mess is an understatement. From day one, the installation was clearly done wrong—visible cracks and leaks in the ductwork connections, loose wiring, disconnected sensors, pipes not insulated… things that should never happen on a brand-new system install.
I’ve had multiple technicians out over the past 2.5+ years trying to fix it, and still having issues. One winter, the system constantly kicked over to auxiliary heat, which drove my electric bill to nearly $800 a month. The explanation I got? “The system is good, it just hasn’t been set up and programmed properly.” After 2.5+ years, that’s unacceptable.
Now the water heater—which I thought was the only thing installed correctly—has a seized valve in less than three years, and I’m being told I have to pay out of pocket just to fix it to perform basic maintenance.
At this point, this isn’t a service issue—it’s a failure in installation, quality control, customer service, and accountability. I’ve spent almost 3 years dealing with problems that should have been handled correctly the first time.
My previous 20-year-old system was more reliable, easier to maintain, and honestly more efficient. I’ve seen no reduction in my utility bills, despite being told I was investing in a top-of-the-line, energy-efficient equipment.
I would NOT recommend this company to anyone.

Jonah from Petermans came out and did a very thorough inspection and estimate for a water softener and gave me about 5-6 options ranging in prices to choose from. Super kind and charismatic gentleman. Not pushy at all. Very happy. 5 stars!

Eric was incredibly helpful! We needed help adjusting a spigot that was sticking out an external wall - he quickly and easily solved that problem, didn’t charge us for it, and then diagnosed a few other issues as well. Would recommend this company! Very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly, didn’t feel pressured to do anything else. I will say that the membership does help a lot with costs and even if you just subscribe briefly for the minimum allotted months (check their website) it’ll be well worth it since it covers the cost of a whole-system diagnostic.

Despite being a member we've received less than adequate service. We had a flood on a Sunday - even though they claim to have emergency services they couldn't send anyone out. They told us they would "try" to come out on Monday but couldn't make any promises. When they did come out, they told us someone else would need to come to do "diagnostics" and then when he came out they informed us we needed leak detection but they don't offer that. They couldn't offer any referrals as to who could do the detection. They knew exactly what the issue was on Sunday, and this happened to us last year - waiting to figure out if it is a result of something they did or didn't do the first flood.
So we found a plumber that does leak detection and can address the issue. We will be canceling our "membership" and await word if they will be held responsible for damages.

Peterman Brothers have always done an amazing job taking care of all of my heating and cooling needs. Today, Shawn came to do a routine check on my electrical and found one issue that needed taking care of immediately, and then showed me several options and prices of things that need to get taken care of sooner rather than later, as well as things that could still wait a little bit. I love that Peterman has NEVER pressured me into anything that I didn’t need, all of their pricing is transparent, and all of their employees have always been extremely courteous and professional. From now on, since the contract states that I can choose my technician, I will always ask for Shawn for any electrical needs.
