Our basement flooded. During a heavy storm, water backed up through a drain in our basement and flooded about 2 inches of our basement landing. We called Roto Rooter on Saturday August 1st, as they were the only emergency plumber we could find online. They sent someone out quickly (Kennedy). He was here for about 20mins. He was very kind and professional, but the only “test” he ran was having me run the shower upstairs to see if it caused the drain to back up. When it didn’t, he said the problem was “probably” that the city sewers were backing up and we needed a backflow valve added. He said he’d send a supervisor out the following day to give a quote. On Sunday, the supervisor came out (Ron, I think?). Once again, he ran 0 tests. He was here less than 20mins and gave us a quote for $12k for the backflow valve. Well, he didn't even review the estimate with us. He just said he emailed us an estimate to look at and waited while we pulled it up on our phone. He then harped about how important it was that we approve the estimate, then left. Yikes. So on Monday we called Mr. Plumber. Thank god we did. They sent someone out August 5th. They surveyed our entire basement, asked lots of questions, and ran a camera through our pipes at no charge. They found many spots in the pipes that were sagging and then found a full clog in our pipes. They quickly got a drain tech out same day to dislodge the clog. They checked out our sump pump to see if it was tied into the sewer. They identified a root ball under our sidewalk and provided a plan to clear it when they come back out to dig. They also provided a competitive estimate to replace old clay pipes running out to the sewer with the addition of the backflow valve. My issue isn’t with Roto Rooter’s cost or estimate. My issue is that no one did a damn thing to back up the estimate. No one ran a camera through the line or spent more than 20mins at my house to investigate the causes of the issue. They made a guess and then asked me for 12 thousand dollars. That money is going to Mr. Plumber now.

What an amazingly awesome experience! 5 stars, wish it could be 6. We called for a clog under the kitchen sink in some Ancient, galvanized steel pipes. The house is just that old. They quoted us a price after getting someone out to look through our crawl space as well for removal and replacement of our pipes. We used their link for financing and went through a simple process to get financing, and we were given an option of 18 months with no interest among others. The two men that came out to do the repair had some unfortunate luck and found a few extra issues when installing the new pipe. They took their breaks, but kept at it until it was done. 8.5 hours after they arrived. Professional the entire time. Excellent attitudes and superb work ethic. If we have any other plumbing issues in the house, I know Exactly who I am going to call. I cannot praise them enough for the work they did for our family.

Came out to snake a drain after telling my husband to shovel out 40 lbs of poop he snaked the drain. Left a huge back up of poop water all over our basement and threw plastic tarps over it and left. The $ and weekend lost cleaning up this mess was ridiculous. Numerous calls to people. Joe, the GM is a complete salesman and jerk overall not helpful at all. Rob was great and tried his best to help. After all of that guess what, still backing up and a whole new mess. They are coming back today. A whole other day lost to this company and their stupidity. Yes corporate has been called and emailed. Never use them unless you want to clean up everything and still not have your issue fixed!!!! If there were - stars they would get a -10 for sure. Junk.

I called Roto rooter to do a main sewer line cleaning. They offered me the service at $550 with a 30 day warranty that it wouldn’t clog again. They also tell you if they can’t clear the line, then you won’t be charged. The tech that came out was very nice but when he finished he explained there was roots in my line and he couldn’t get them out. He took away my warranty but still charged me $550 and my line clogged again a few days later. Their techs (plumbers) are paid on commission so they only make money if they charge you. I do want to say both the techs that came to my house were friendly and helpful. So the next step was to get a quote to replace the line since he couldn’t get the line clear of roots. I was quoted $9900 for a spot repair of 10 feet. He did say he would give me $500 off since I paid for the initial service. In my opinion, I shouldn’t have paid the $550 because they couldn’t clear my line of roots. Then they took back what they said about the warranty because they knew it would clog again. Long story short, this company generally has fast service, but they will price gouge you. If you have the time to get quotes from other plumbers, you will save thousands of dollars.

Daniel was very cordial. His appearance was neat and he put protective covers over his shoes. He was able to light the pilot light on my hot water heater very quickly. He answered all my questions. I really Thought about giving a 4 1/2 stars rating because I was given a 3pm to 5pm window for my service and it was about 5:45 before he arrived. I gave five stars because someone did keep me posted of the delay and Daniel had a pleasant personality.
